What people ask before upgrading to lithium
Lithium batteries are known for long cycle life, but we do not quote an exact lifespan. Actual life depends on the specific product, how deeply it is discharged, charging pattern, temperature and installation conditions. The manufacturer's own warranty terms are the figure to rely on.
Not always. Lithium batteries need compatible charging behaviour and, in many cases, communication with the inverter. Some inverters support lithium directly, others do not. Tell us your inverter model and we will confirm compatibility before you buy anything.
Capacity follows from the loads you want to run and the hours you want them running. We work backwards from that requirement rather than starting with a battery size — which is why the same house can end up with a very different recommendation from its neighbour.
In a suitable indoor location with adequate ventilation, protected from water and direct heat, and accessible for service. The compact size of lithium usually makes placement easier than an equivalent lead-acid bank, but the location still needs to be planned during the survey.
